This is the first one-man show in Japan dedicated to the work of Mark Manders (born 1968 in Volkel, the Netherlands, and presently lives in Belgium), an internationally renowned contemporary artist who has been creating installation works made up of sculptures, poems, single words, objects and other components. Next to displays of important early works and drawings, Manders’s works are exhibited here in the form of a large-scale, site-specific installation (originally made for display at the museum). Poetical sculptures, and other unique exhibits in which time seems to stand still, invite visitors to experience first-hand the appeal of Manders’s explorations between reality and fiction.
