On 1 December 2016, De Liefde Club held Christmas Luncheon at French restaurant ‘Hayama-an Tokyo’ in Aoyama. Mr. Cees Roels, Deputy Ambassador of the Netherlands, kindly proposed a toast, and 52 participants enjoyed talking over delicious healthy cuisine in the room filled with sunshine. A short documentary filmed by one of the governors who attended the open house of Oranda-jima House in Yamada-machi in June 2016 made a deep impression on the participants. The charity bazaar was also a great success. We are grateful to many members for donating charming handicrafts, delicious wine, sweets, and so on. The proceeds from the bazaar will be used to send some gifts to the children of Yamada-machi on Christmas and other occasions.
As the closing, all the participants sang Christmas carols in Dutch, English, and Japanese in high spirits.
