We held the lecture “With the Children at the Frontiers” presented by Dr. Clara van Gulik in the conference hall of FUJIFILM head office on 7 October. We had an honor of welcoming Her Imperial Highness Princess Akishino as an audience. After joining the Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) in 2005, Dr. van Gulik, a paediatrician specialized in tropical medicine, started her medical activity in Africa and then became a coordinator in the frontiers. She currently works as Humanitarian Affairs Representative in Tokyo. She showed many pictures and explained about what happened in the hazardous areas in the world, and how people there, especially children, were injured and victimized. We have learned and deepened our knowledge about how the MSF staffs treat and cure those people. At the reception held afterwards with the presence of H.I.H. Princess Akishino, we enhanced our mutual friendship with Dr. van Gulik, who is a member of De Liefde Club, and with all other attendees.
