The Christmas Luncheon on 2 December 2015 at Ristorante Aso in Daikanyama was also the occasion to bid farewell to our Honorary Governor, Mrs. Béatrice van Vollenhoven.
Following a farewell speech by Mrs. Fumiko Arima, the Representative Governor, a bowl of traditional Japanese lacquerware was presented to Mrs. van Vollenhoven as a token of our gratitude. She gave us a wholehearted speech, mentioning all the De Liefde Club events during her stay in Japan and let us realize what precious memories we shared. Mrs. Sari Roels, the wife of the Minister, gave a ‘Kanpai’ toast and 61 participants enjoyed talking over imaginative Italian cuisine in the cozy atmosphere. At the charity bazaar table, generous contributions were made for the children of Oranda Jima House in Yamada-machi. As the closing, all the participants sang some Christmas songs and “Aux Champs-Élysées” with passion and soul.
