On Wednesday February 21, our one-day excursion was held. 18 persons participated in total, including our honorary governor Mrs. Anne Lande Peters and two Dutch people. 30 minutes train ride from Shinjuku, we could reach the spacious and well natural reserved Ikuta Ryokuchi. At first, we visited the Taro Okamoto Museum. ”Art is an explosion!” quoted by Okamoto is well known. Prior to museum tour, the curator gave us a guidance on the artist and his works. We could also enjoy the works of young contemporary artists at the adjunct exhibition. After finishing the morning schedule, we took a break at café in the museum. In the afternoon, we visited “Japan Open-Air Folk House Museum”. Three volunteer guides were kind and had ample knowledge, so that we could get firsthand information on the folk house. Despite the cold rain, it was really rewarding day extended by the support of all participants and volunteers of the facilities.
