Would you like to join gDe Liefde Clubh ?

De Liefde Club was established on the 8th of June 1998 with the approval of the Japan-Netherlands Society at its Annual General Meeting and mainly consists of female members of the JNS. The name, De Liefde Club, derives from the first Dutch ship, "De Liefde" that cast ashore of Japan in 1600 and was given by Mme. Nouyhuys, former Netherlands Ambassador's wife, who undertook the first Honorary Representative Governorship of the club. The successive Netherlands Ambassadors' wives have assumed this post till today.

The club's purpose is to promote mutual understanding and friendship among Dutch ladies living in Japan and Japanese ladies having lived in the Netherlands or having any relations with Dutch people. The club holds 4 or 5 events in a year, including ones with Japanese initiatives such as bus tours to historic sites related to Nehterlands and Japan, lectures on Japanese cultures, Christmas luncheon, as well as ones with Dutch initiatives to introduce Dutch art and culture such as the Dutch painting exhibition in Tokyo and lectures on Dutch cultures.

With your participation we wish to further develop De Liefde Club for our
bright future in the 21st Century.
