Lecture by Dr. Kaori Hidaka

Date Wednesday, 24 October 2018
Venue FUJIFILM HQ
We held the lecture entitled “Japanese Lacquerwares Transported by Dutch People” by Dr. Kaori Hidaka, professor at National Museum of Japanese History, in the conference room of FUJIFILM HQ on 24 October.  Showing many photographs of lacquerwares, Dr. Hidaka explained the differences of depicted designs between export and domestic items in the 17-19th century.  All the 38 participants, including 3 Dutch, were enchanted with fineness of works and evoked a real image of craftsmanship in those days.  After the lecture, we had a reception with Dr. Hidaka and enhanced our mutual friendship while we were having delicious mini-lunch together.
