Venue | Ambassador's Residence in the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands |
On 23 October 2024, De Liefde Club held a lecture “Understanding Guide Dogs” at the residence of the Dutch ambassador. His excellency Mr. Gilles Beschoor Plug, Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands gave an opening address. The lecture was given in English by Mr. Morio Sugai, a guide dog user, and three staff members of the Japan Guide Dog Association. Including Mme. Louise Beschoor Plug-Wesseling, our honorary Governor, 30 participants listened to the lecture with great interest. There are many “common misconceptions” about guide dogs, such as their life span must be short, they don’t have any freedom compared with normal pets etc. But these were gradually cleared away during the lecture. And the audience also couldn't help but smile at the PR dog’s cute and definite demonstration. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the Ambassador and his wife for providing the facility and a warm reception for this event.
Lastly, we proudly announce that we received a heartfelt message for this lecture from the Royal Dutch Guide Dog Foundation (KNGF).
