Dutch movie screening

On Saturday 11 March, at Nishi Azabu Hall of FUJIFILM, we organized a movie screening of a Dutch film “Admiral” (“Michiel de Ruyter”). 44 members gathered and enjoyed the film of a hero Michiel de Ruyter, an existing admiral in the navy. The movie was very interesting, with gripping scenes of naval battle by sail boats, describing the political situations both domestic and international surrounding the Netherlands in the 17th century.
After the movie, the participants had live conversation about their impressions of the movie and deepened exchanges while sharing a cup of coffee with some stroopwafels and other Dutch treats.

Story: Michiel de Ruyter (1607-1676) was one of the largest and passionate innovators in combat engineering and therefore became a naval hero in Holland. As the deeply torn Netherlands is attacked from all sides and on the verge of civil war, one man tries to fight for the interests of the country: Michiel de Ruyter. But in the eyes of those in power, his successes make him too popular and Michiel was sent on a deadly mission…
