2016 JNS Annual General Meeting and Reception were held on Tuesday, 21 June. We were graced with the presence of our Honorary Patron, Their Imperial Highnesses Prince and Princess Akishino, our Honorary President, His Excellency Mr. Aart Jacobi, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and also Dr. Jan Peter Balkenende, former Prime Minister of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.
After the General Meeting, Mr. Ton van Zeeland, Counsellor of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands made a presentation about “Holland & Kyushu” programme. It is a cultural cooperation programme which was initiated by the Embassy of the Netherlands, the Consulate-General in Osaka/Kobe and other organizations. Mr. van Zeeland explained about the whole idea of the programme, and the various events planned in the Netherlands and Kyushu throughout 2016-2017.
After the presentation by Mr. van Zeeland, a reception was held. The reception started with the toast of Mr. Richard van Rooij, Councilor of the JNS, which was followed by the introduction of the new Corporate and Individual/Family members. Participants enjoyed conversation in a friendly atmosphere with the exquisite meal.
